It is no secret that a large portion of the Baruch student body is employed, and that brings a nervous consequence this time of year: It’s time to file taxes!
But do you have to suffer the symptoms of every resident of New York? This year, once again, you have another choice. So save yourself the headache and the pocket money by coming to our Free Tax Preparation Center. VITA volunteers will assist you in preparing the basic IRS and NYS forms. (International students are also welcome.)
Volunteer Income Assistance Program is co-sponsored by the Golden Key and Beta Alpha Psi National Honor Societies and currently driven by more than 200 volunteers. All volunteers have undergone extensive training and were certified by the IRS in filling out Federal 1040 and 1040a forms, and New York State IT200 and IT201.
Don’t want to spend hours trying to decipher the newest tax regulations? Confused by the IRS definition of the tuition and fees deduction? You don’t have to! Come to Baruch’s VITA site and you can spend your time more wisely.
Are you careful about spending your limited dollars? Do you want to be? Get FREE tax preparation assistance and we might even be able to get you a refund. That’s right, because our bottom goal is to prepare your return accurately while saving you the most money possible. We know that you earn your money the hard way and there is just no sense in paying a late fee because you were mistaken whether to file or to not claim your refund.
VITA’s Main Office (i.e. the “hidden room”) is located in room 320 in the Library Building (151 East 25th Street). Through April 15th, we will be open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 10-8pm. Hope to see you there!
