In an age in which employers seek top talent and leadership potential, the Starr Career Development Center is responding to changes in the job market by launching the Leadership and Professional Development Program. The program will give Baruch student leaders a competitive edge. Ingrid Tineo, Assistant Director at the Starr Career Development Center and Veronica Ingram-Henry, Assistant Director of Student Life took the initiative to bring forth this program.
In today's economy, employers are looking to hire "super stars" and they usually recruit students who are engaged in leadership activities on campus. As program coordinator, Ingrid Tineo mentioned that corporate contacts reach out to Baruch College's Starr Career Development Center on a regular basis, asking to meet with club officers because they possess the leadership qualities they seek. The purpose of the Leadership and Professional Development Program is to help this group of students to enhance and strengthen their leadership abilities. Many companies offer dynamic and exciting leadership opportunities for students to take advantage of. This program creates the necessary bridge between student leaders and corporate associates.
