Jets are among the 'Elite'

1/16/10 5:51 PM

After the Jets took care of the Bengals on Saturday (a game where I predicted the exact score, 24-14. Yes I am patting myself on the back and yes you should bow to me) they face what is certain to be their toughest match-up of the season. The San Diego Chargers, who I picked to make the Superbowl in the beginning of the season (keep bowing) ended the season on an 11 game winning streak and have averaged over 28 points a game this season. The Jets however, are on a hot streak of there own, showcasing their patented ‘ground and pound’ running game, their number one defense which gave up just over 14 point per game this season, and cutting down the rookie mistakes of QB Mark ‘Sanchize’ Sanchez. So with the Chargers’ high-powered offense matching up against the... 0 comment

Gang Green ready for rematch

1/9/10 12:19 AM

After what can only be described as a roller coaster season full of ups and downs, rushes and rookies, and plenty of blitzes on and off the field, gang green some how found themselves into the 5th seed in the AFC after destroying the Bengals in the season finally, 37-0. The Jets sent a major statement to the AFC North champions in the last game at Giants stadium but now have to face them on the road in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs -- the Jets' first playoff game since 2006. There is no doubt that this game will be closer than what took place on week 17, but who has the edge? Here is a breakdown of the two teams. QUARTERBACK Although Carson Palmer played terrible against the Jets last week (combining with backup QB J.T. O'Sullivan to throw for 0 yards...that's right,...

Yankees vs. Phillies: A Mets Fan's Perspective

10/30/09 10:12 PM

Welcome Mets fans. Welcome to the ninth circle of hell. Welcome to the depths of the abyss that makes your skin burn and crawl. Welcome to a Yankees vs. Phillies World Series match-up. Just when it seemed like this season couldn’t any worse for Mets fans, on top of a 92-loss season, on top of every major contributor on the team missing significant time to injury, on top of the recent revelation that the Wilpons made money on the Madoff scandal and still refused to spend it, this happens. Over the years, Mets fans have seen their shares of highs and lows, with the lows greatly outnumbering the highs. However, this World Series may be the lowest. On one end we have the Yankees, a team you were born and bred to hate. In our lifetime, Yankee fans have witnessed four World Series... 1 comment

Dodgers' amazin' comparison

10/18/09 12:11 AM

Is it just me or do the 2009 Dodgers eerily remind you of the 2006 Mets?

Both teams:
- Ran away with the division in the regular season
- Had a lot of comeback victories
- Struggled towards the end of the year
- Swept the NLDS
- Has no real ace starter
- Person considered ace of the staff injured (Pedro/Billingsly)
- Found a playoff starter on the scrap heap (Ollie/Padilla)
- Have young players who are all coming into their own and having breakout seasons

These Dodgers have reminded me of the '06 Mets all season...hopefully, for Dodgers fans sake, they don't end the year the same way as the Mets did.

Jets Acquire Braylon Edwards

10/13/09 4:59 PM

The Jets acquired wide receiver Braylon Edwards from the Cleveland Browns yesterday when they pulled the trigger on a five-player deal that puts the former Pro-Bowl star in Jets green for the rest of the year. The deal came, a little suspiciously, only minutes after rookie WR Michael Crabtree, who the Jets were accused of tampering with in September, ended his long hold out on signing with the 49ers. Edwards, who has gotten off to a slow start after a bad 2008 campaign, comes to the Jets in exchange for WR Chansi Stuckey, Linebacker Jason Trusnick and two draft choices, and third and fifth round pick. The third-rounder could change to a second round pick depending on how productive Edwards is for the rest of the season. From the Jets’ point of view, they have acquired the big play...
