Walking home one night a few weeks ago, I looked up to the sky and realized that I could see stars. A rather unusual sight in New York, I exclaimed to my friend, "They have stars here!" Ana Kovziridze comes to Baruch College from New Utrecht High School in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Originally from the Republic of Georgia, she came to the U.S. with her parents at age 11. Though teased early on by her classmates for being unable to speak English, she later became popular in school because of her volunteer efforts and New Utrecht's student organizations and debate teams.
