Chelsea and Bayern both have losses to avenge. There are many players’ legacies, which will change following this game. Chelsea’s Frank Lampard has won every trophy possible at club level save for a Champions League trophy. Bayern’s Franck Ribery seeks to prove that the move to Bayern was a good one. Back in 2007 when Ribery was being courted by Manchester United and Real Madrid among others he opted to go to Bayern Munich which hadn’t been in a Champions League final since 2001. Now four years later he can prove them all wrong.
The final might not be the most exciting game but it will be a final with a lot of nerve and much on the line for both teams. I predict Bayern will come away with the victory because they have a stronger and deeper squad. Chelsea will miss their star player John Terry and his absence provides Bayern with a hole they can exploit. My prediction: Bayern 2, Chelsea 1.
